Last year, my husband Travis and I signed up for this zombie race we’d heard about, called The Run For Your Life. The day of the race, I was so excited and nervous that I almost didn’t do it! Then, the next thing I know, I’m running down Jefferson Street with a list of tasks in my hand, dodging zombies, and ultimately falling flat on my face exactly one block from the start line. We couldn’t have been running for more than 30 seconds, and spent the entire race in the emergency room while the nurses and doctors laughed over my broken nose, caused by dodging a zombie. 🙂
This year, I thought I’d play it safe, so instead of running, I was a checkpoint! The zombies actually met up in the studio for their start point, and then the runners had to run up three flights of stairs to our photo booth checkpoint! It was such a fun night, and I loved it, being tucked inside where it was warm and zombie-free (relatively)!

Sometimes it is just too cold or ugly outside to shoot like we planned, so we move indoors. Now, anyone that knows me, knows I can’t stand sticking my subjects in front of the backdrop and being traditional. So today, when it was just a little to chilly to be playing in the park, we took it inside. I knew immediately what I wanted to do for this family, who wanted casual, fun, and simple!
This is one of my absolute favorites from the day! Lisa & Heath, thank you for trusting me with these moments, and thank you to Ty for the incredibly perfect doggie-look here!
So we are having a lot of fun with our monthly belly shots! Rather than just your normal belly shots, we wanted to do something a little different, and after my “Bun In The Oven” shoot, we decided on the perfect creative idea! Each month = one decade. We’re working on the 70’s and 80’s now!
So, what’s your guess? We should find out in three weeks!
I say girl!! But Heath thinks boy.
