So, I Love Harry Potter…
When I was pregnant with Claire, I had the idea to do this series. After 20 months of brainstorming, scouting locations, designing sets, making props and costumes, shooting, editing, and stressing, I finally feel like it is complete. I started this project for me, to have some fun shots of my daughter based in the world of Harry Potter, a world that I love. In the end, I didn’t get do all of the sets I wanted, added a couple I hadn’t planned to, and pushed myself to try new editing and shooting techniques to get the look I wanted. Some turned out exactly like I envisioned them, others drastically different, and a few shots were totally unintentional, left entirely to the random behavior of a toddler, a lucky shutter finger, and a little bit of luck!
My vision all along was not to make my daughter into Harry, but to have be herself, as if she were attending Hogwarts current day. I tried to stay true to canon and used details from the books, interviews that J.K. Rowling has given, and the movies. Claire is sharing a lot of the experiences that Harry and his friends did, but that happens when you go to the same school! Claire was a good sport, and her big brother Maddox loved joining in a few of the sets, too!
I know my family and friends and Facebook followers have been waiting for this day for a very, very long time, so without further ado, I present my Potter Project. ๐
