Laura & Ryan posed a unique situation for me! Shortly after they booked their wedding with us, Ryan moved to Australia for work, and after a few weeks, Laura joined them. They would be back for the week before the wedding, and that was it!\u00a0 So, we did something that I’ve never done before.\u00a0 We met the day before the wedding to shoot their engagement session!<\/p>\n

It was an overcast day at the Des Moines Art Center<\/a>, but the rain held off for us! We had such a wonderful time exploring the grounds!\u00a0 While most of the roses in the rose garden hadn’t bloomed yet, it was still beautiful! Ryan and Laura are just so amazing and natural together, and they were so easy to photograph. At one point, Laura asked if I was getting any of them smiling, and I had to assure her I was – all they could do was smile!<\/p>\n

Here are a few of my favorites. I had a hard time narrowing it down!<\/p>\n

Also, I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to my friend and fellow photographer, Kim Fitzsimmons!<\/a> Kim drove me all the way to Des Moines because the engine blew out in our SUV, and second shot all weekend with me. We had a great time at the Cheesecake Factory after the engagement session, and stayed up way too late each night talking!<\/p>\n
