I met Annie when I photographed her sister Jenna’s wedding back in 2007, and ran into her again after photographing the birth of Jenna’s second son.\u00a0 She called me not long after and said I had to be her photographer, no matter what.\u00a0 About a month after she booked me, I got a call from Annie, and she sounded like she was near tears.\u00a0 She told me she wasn’t happy, she didn’t want to get married in Iowa, her dream has always been to get married on the beach.\u00a0 “Do whatever makes you happy!” I told her.\u00a0 She said “there’s one problem, though. We don’t want anyone else to shoot the wedding, it has to be you.\u00a0 Do you travel?”<\/p>\n

I don’t remember my exact response, but I am pretty sure it was along the lines of “uh, YEAH”.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE to travel.\u00a0 I’ve been to 30-some states and 8 foreign countries, my passport is always up-to-date, and I am an expert packer.\u00a0 I have more luggage than a normal person should own because I like to color-coordinate, and get giddy as I am about to step onto an airplane.\u00a0 So, yeah, I travel.<\/p>\n

A year and a few odd months later, I found myself on the beach<\/a> with Annie and Shane, the morning before their wedding, splashing in the surf and laughing and just enjoying every single minute of it!\u00a0 This will be a series of posts because I simply cannot narrow it down to a few favorites.\u00a0 Keep an eye out this week for more!<\/p>\n

One awesome part of my destination wedding services is the true one-on-one time I get with my clients.\u00a0 Besides shooting the day of the wedding, we also schedule one or two other shooting times before or after to really capture some amazing images of them in their beautiful destination.\u00a0 We have fun and explore and get creative!\u00a0 It’s like having your own personal vacation photographer!<\/p>\n

Shane kept dipping Annie in the water, so when he bent over to pick up a seashell, she took full advantage of his unawareness and shoved!<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, this idea backfired as she tried to get away and fell in herself!!!\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

The forecast for the day of the wedding called for rain and thunderstorms the entire day, so Annie and Shane decided to do their first look on the beach at the condo we were staying in.\u00a0 The winds were already picking up and the skies turning gray, but we managed to get some awesome shots before the weather took a turn for the worse.\"\"<\/p>\n

I love the moment when a groom sees his bride for the first time.\u00a0 Shane went from nervous to happy in a millisecond!\"\"<\/p>\n
