As a photographer and now a mother, I wanted to post about the NILMDTS \u00a0fund drive that is taking place this month and next.\u00a0 Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is an organization I have been a member of for 2 1\/2 years, and is very dear to my heart.\u00a0 This organization is dedicated to giving grieving parents\u00a0memories of their child that has passed.\u00a0 I have had the honor of photographing families who have suffered the tragedy of losing a child and giving them something that can never be remade – photographs of their beautiful baby.\u00a0 It is not easy, getting calls about a birth that the parents know will end sadly, or meeting a family who have a baby at home that they know will not make it to its first birthday.\u00a0 Regardless of whether the baby is miscarried, stillborn, or was with the parents for\u00a0a few hours, days, weeks, or months, these images are so important.<\/p>\n

With the Month of October being recognized as
\nPregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month,
\nThe Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation
\nholds its Annual Fund Drive<\/span><\/strong> for six weeks
\nstarting in mid-September and ending in October.<\/font><\/span>President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890
\nin October of 1988 to recognize that each year,
\napproximately a million pregnancies in the United
\nStates alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the
\ndeath of a newborn child.\u00a0 Reagan stated, “A national
\nobservance offers us the opportunity to increase our
\nunderstanding of the great tragedy involved in the
\ndeaths of unborn or newborn babies.\u00a0 It also enables
\nus to consider how, as individuals and communities,
\nwe can meet the needs of bereaved parents and
\nfamily members…<\/span><\/em> ”\u00a0 To read the full Proclamation

\nin support of our amazing contingent of professional
\nphotographers who provide the gift of free remembrance

\nworking on is an online, interactive webinar version of
\nour Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder
\nSandy Puc’ allowing anyone in any country with access
\nto a computer to complete the course online.\u00a0
