King – The Coolest Non-Limo I’ve Seen! Guest Blog by Black Horse Carriage Co

Back in June, I photographed my second wedding at Walnut Grove Farm, and met King.  Now, a lot of people don’t know this about me, but I am a horse person.  Unfortunately, I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to ride in the last few years, not since my own horse passed away, but I have a great deal of respect and love for these creatures.  When Crystal told me they were having a horse-drawn carriage, I was excited.  When I met King, I was blown away.  He is a gorgeous, beautiful horse, and so very tall!  I fell in love with him immediately!

To top it off, his handlers were fantastic, too.  From the beautiful white carriage to their professionalism and matching outfits (as in matching King!) I loved everything about them!  Enough so to ask Kerri to write up a feature for our blog!

Introducing Kerri and King from Black Horse Carriage Company

“You’ve been dreaming about this day for some time now, and so have I. My team and I are experts in the business of creating beautiful memories. Although my business partner isn’t a person, interesting enough, he’s an incredible carriage horse. He goes by the name “King” and he’s certainly treated like one! Before I describe my team, I need to tell you all about, King. Truth be told, he really he pulls the weight in our business- literally. King is our only carriage horse and he has 20+ years of experience. King is right at home in a crowd and in traffic; he’s accustom to noise and commotion.  King loves to pull our beautiful white wedding carriage. The carriage and all the passengers only amount to 20% of King’s pulling ability.

“Let me tell you now about our team.  Here at Black Horse Carriage we love weddings. Weddings are a celebration of the love and commitment between the bride and groom. We believe they deserve the very best on their wedding day! Our timely arrival, gorgeous carriage, and beloved horse, King, make for a dream come true as we transport the bride, groom. This scene is a photographer’s dream, and an unlimited amount of pictures are taken.  King believes he is a guest at your wedding. When the bride and groom arrive, King is available to be approached and petted by his fellow guests.

“Our typical package includes transportation for the bride and her parents to the place of ceremony. During the ceremony, King and Driver will stand and wait to whisk the newly married bride and groom away for an opulent and nostalgic carriage ride.  Black Horse Carriage provides the most elegant and romantic transportation ever imagined.”

You can contact Kerri and King and the rest of the team through their website at Black Horse Carriage Company (blackhorsecarriage.com or by phone at 815-766-0376.
